Central Preston Middle School was formed during the 1991-1992 school year as a result of the county high schools consolidating to form Preston High School. Originally, the Wildcats' home was located in the old Central Preston Senior / Kingwood High School building on High Street. In January 2007, because of structural issues with the High Street building, Central Preston students and staff moved to the 9th grade addition of Preston High School, where they remained for over eight years. In 2010, Preston County citizens voted to build the new Central Preston Middle School, and the building in front of you was built in 2015.
