J.W. Lynn Plantation Commissary
Industry
3
Around 1922, a country store was moved from Myrtis, Louisiana, to this location to serve as the new commissary for the J.W. Lynn Plantation. At its peak, more than 300 families lived and worked on the plantation, and the commissary served as the general store, office, and headquarters for the plantation. A likeness of the original commissary was built in tribute by J.W. Lynn's grandson, Richard H. Wilcox, Jr., in 2015.
