Centennial Park was dedicated on August 25, 2001 to the past, present, and future generations of Bonner Springs and to the citizens and business owners who have made the city what it is. The park stands as a symbol of the community's heritage for residents and visitors alike. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company donated the caboose to the City of Bonner Springs in 1999, and it honors the railroad companies that were part of the city's history during its first one hundred years, 1898 to 1998.
