Rock Hall Landing was the site of Rock Hall Mansion, for which the town was named. The Annapolis-Rock Hall Packet landed here and was used by George Washington on eight known trips through Kent County. It was a convenient route used by many prominent persons of the Colonial and Revolutionary periods.
