Friends, colleagues, and admirers gathered here on November 1, 2013, with the Mount Washington Hotel, the cog railway, and the Presidential Range as a backdrop, to dedicate a scenic overlook in honor of Executive Councilor Raymond S. Burton's more than 40 years of dedicated public service to New Hampshire's North Country and the people of the state. He was regarded as a strong and unwavering voice for the citizens of District One in the state capitol. The panoramic overlook resulted from a private-public initiative linking CNL Lifestyle Properties, Inc., owner of the Mount Washington Hotel, which donated the land, and the state of New Hampshire, which provided funding from the National Scenic Byway program.
