Pasaquan, near Buena Vista, Georgia, is a seven-acre folk art historic district centered on a redesigned 1885 farmhouse and transformed by Eddie Owens Martin, who called himself St. EOM. After returning to family land and moving his fortune-telling business there, Martin developed the site over many years as an expression of his personal spiritual vision, creating buildings, concrete sculpture, and painted masonry walls. Assisted at times by D. W. Milner and Edwin Stephens, he shaped one of the United States' most distinctive visionary art environments. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, restored from 2014 to 2016, and reopened in 2016, it remains a celebrated symbol of Southern folk art.
