Arcadia Beach State Recreation Site is a state park on the Oregon Coast about two miles south of Cannon Beach. Centered on a stretch of ocean beach, it forms part of Oregon’s state park system as a recreation area. The site is especially known for a small natural curiosity called the “singing sands,” where under the right conditions the sand produces a squeaking, violin-like sound. That unusual feature gives the beach much of its distinctive character and helps set it apart among coastal recreation spots.
