Elk Hill, also called North Knob or Elk Mountain, is a mountain in Herrick Township, Pennsylvania, and stands as the highest peak in the state east of the Susquehanna River as well as the highest point on the Allegheny Plateau. Rising prominently above the surrounding landscape, it has two summits: the main summit, North Knob, reaches 2,693 feet, and the lower South Knob rises to 2,602 feet. Its slopes also contain Elk Mountain Ski Area, which features a 1,000-foot vertical drop and 27 ski trails.
