On June 6, 1873, John T. Haller received the stone contract, to be set by September 5, 1873, with each perch measuring 24.75 cubic feet. On June 27, 1873, McGurdy & McDurmett received the ironwork contract at $20.50 a lineal foot for three bowstring truss spans with a wood floor, 296 feet long and 16 feet wide. The bridge was completed before February 1875 and remained in use until October 24, 1959.
