Casula Point marks the site of the 9th Street Bridge that connected Laurel and Howard County over the Patuxent River and honors Frank P. Casula (1920-2001), who served the citizens of Laurel and Prince George's County for more than three decades, including 20 years as a Prince George's County Councilmember, 4 years as a Laurel City Council member, and almost 8 years as Mayor of Laurel. He was remembered for his enthusiastic personality and his "can do" attitude, which defined his style as a public servant, and his many accomplishments and contributions touched the lives of thousands of people across Maryland, Prince George's County, and the City of Laurel.
