New England Botanic Garden in Boylston, Massachusetts, is a 200-acre four-season garden that blends 18 designed garden spaces, preserved woodlands, and walking trails, attracting more than 200,000 visitors annually. Founded in 1986 on the former Tower Hill Farm by the Worcester County Horticultural Society, it grew from that organization’s long regional role in horticulture after older exhibition traditions faded. Its grounds include conservatories, formal and natural landscapes, educational and event spaces, and themed areas ranging from native plant gardens to accessible multisensory displays. The garden also preserves heirloom vegetables and apples, highlights seasonal blooms, and has expanded its acreage, accessibility, education programs, and sustainability efforts.
