DePrato has five dome-shaped mounds, three of which are clearly seen from the road. Flooding has covered the ground and lower portions of the mounds with two and a half feet of sediment, so the mounds appear smaller than their true height of five to six feet. Radiocarbon dates and decorated pottery suggest Indians built the mounds around A.D. 600.
