Badlands Dinosaur Museum in Dickinson, North Dakota, is a paleontology museum within the Dickinson Museum Center and an active regional center for dinosaur research and display. First proposed in 1987 and opened in 1994, it operated for more than twenty years as the Dakota Dinosaur Museum before reopening on May 17, 2016, after the City of Dickinson took ownership of its fossil collection and exhibits, and it adopted its current name in 2017. Its 13,400-square-foot building features dinosaur skeletons, skulls, reconstructions, fossils, and minerals, including notable rare specimens, while newer discoveries from Montana fieldwork since 2016 connect the galleries to ongoing excavation and preparation.
