The Neuhauser Building was named in honor of J.B. Neuhauser III for his dedicated service to the citizens of the city of Pelham. He served as councilman from 1982 to 1986 and 1990 to 1996. Chester Shelnutt served as mayor, and Joe Caldwell served as mayor pro-tem, with council members Robert McPherson, Ned Griffin, Joe Haywood III, Robert Hodges, Morris Parker, and Mike Taylor.
