Holy Ghost Catholic Church was established in September 1919 in Marksville, Louisiana, by the Diocese of Alexandria, Louisiana, primarily for Black Catholics, a common practice of that era. It was originally staffed by Holy Ghost Fathers. It currently serves a congregation with more than 90 percent Black membership. Its Centennial Jubilee spans 1919-2019. Mathew 16:18
