Mike Sizemore, a metal sculptor based in Mercer County, West Virginia, operates Mountain Artworks, a large welding studio he established in 1996 after returning to West Virginia from Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has said that he is inspired by the landscapes he loves so much: the stark, linear high deserts of Northern New Mexico and the lush, dark river landscapes of West Virginia.
