Saint Croix River Light is a lighthouse on the Saint Croix River in Maine near the Canada–United States border, notable for serving a river location rather than an open coast. First established in 1857, the station took on a distinctive design in 1901 with an octagonal wooden tower built atop a keeper’s house. That combined house-and-light structure remained in use until fire destroyed it in 1976. The light that stands there now is a simpler skeleton tower erected afterward, continuing the site’s long navigational function.
