William Draper Jr. was a missionary, pioneer, church leader, farmer, shoemaker, and merchant for whom the city of Draper, Utah is named. Born on April 24, 1807, in the Midland District of Upper Canada, he was baptized into the LDS Church on March 20, 1833, migrated to Utah in 1849, settled in South Willow Creek, later Draper, in November 1850, and died on May 28, 1888, in Freedom, Utah, Sanpete County.
