Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a 300-acre public landscape in Overland Park, Kansas, opened in 1991 and developed to combine formal gardens with habitat conservation. Nearly 85 percent of its grounds are protected natural ecosystems, including prairie, oak savanna, riparian woodland, and old field, linked by trails, limestone bluffs, and bridges over Wolf Creek. Its designed spaces include the Welcome Garden, Erickson Water Garden, Marder Woodland Garden, Legacy Garden, Children’s Discovery Garden, the one-acre Monet Garden, the Train Garden, and the Stous Promenade. Together these features make it both a botanical destination and a preserve for eastern Kansas environments.
