Alexander Hamilton Willard was born in Charlestown, N.H., on Aug. 24, 1778, and died in Franklin on Mar. 6, 1865. He was the last surviving member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, kept a journal, and gave valuable service as a gunsmith.
