Lieut. John A. Fitch and Capt. Allen C. Waterhouse served with U.S. Battery E. A detachment of the battery served one 30-pounder Parrott rifle in this position, Battery Jenny, from about June 5 to June 22, 1863, when the battery moved with the 1st and 3D Brigades of its division to Bear Creek, on the exterior line.
