The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock is an African American history museum devoted to Black history in Arkansas from 1870 to the present, especially achievements in business, politics, and the arts. Its name honors the Mosaic Templars of America, a Black fraternal order founded there in 1883 by former slaves John E. Bush and Chester W. Keatts, which provided insurance and mutual aid when such services were often denied. Built on the site of the former Mosaic Templars building in the old West Ninth Street district, the center preserves that legacy through exhibitions, research facilities, education space, and public programs.
