Bronson High School honored the men from the school who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great 1917–World War–1919: Claude William Alderman, Edwin Riley Bennett, and Charles Morris Cockle. Presented by the class of 1920, the plaque was later removed from the Bronson High School building on Chicago St. before its demolition, mounted on this memorial, and rededicated in July 1990 to all World War veterans.
