Midway Drive-In, near Ravenna, Ohio, opened in 1955 as a drive-in movie theater built by the Vogel family and designed by noted drive-in architect Jack K. Vogel. Situated between Ravenna and Kent, it became known for its rounded blue screentower, a distinctive Vogel design that made it one of the last surviving drive-ins with an original Vogel tower and the only standing example among designs shown in The American Drive-In Movie Theater. A second screentower later made it a twin drive-in. After John Knepp bought it in the early 1990s, the original tower was lost in a December 2000 storm and replaced, while memorabilia and photographs preserved its history.
