Built in 1903, this brick building is a fine survival of early Palo Alto architectural and religious history and remains a special asset in the heart of the downtown commercial area, where few examples of early buildings remain. It served as the First Christian Church congregation's building until 1919 and was then used as a church home by the Palo Alto Church of Nazarene. Its arched openings and brick detailing suggest a Romanesque architectural mode, and its elegant style is unusual for the era of Palo Alto. The Historic Resources Board has designated the building historic, classified it as Category 2, and listed it in the Palo Alto Historic Resources Inventory.
