Cane Creek State Park in Lincoln County centers on Cane Creek Lake at the meeting of the Gulf Coastal Plain and the Mississippi Delta, where wooded shoreline also borders Bayou Bartholomew. The park emerged from a long-discussed plan after federal funding was promised in 1973 and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission agreed to build and maintain the lake. Its rolling wooded hills, deep draws, and steep ridges reflect the meeting of two major regions. Today the park is known for lake and forest recreation, including boating, fishing, hiking, biking, camping, and hunting, as well as its distinctive landscape.
