Pass Manchac marked the southern boundary of Tangipahoa Parish and formed part of the line dividing the Isle of Orleans from the Florida Parishes. It was the boundary between British West Florida and Spanish Louisiana from 1763 to 1783, between Spanish West Florida and French Louisiana in 1803, and between the U.S. and Spanish West Florida from 1803 to 1810.
