· All's Well Farm
History
1
Built circa 1910 by Reuben Douglas and his wife, Lucy Parsons, after the Gilliam 1908 storm destroyed their first home, this house was the home of one of the area's early landowners. Reuben purchased 800 acres in 1900 and named the property All's Well Farm. He operated a store and a cotton gin in Gilliam, served as an early member of the Caddo Levee Board and as a state representative, and was a leader in the Gilliam Methodist Church. Reuben and Lucy married in 1902 and had four children, Mary Chapman, James Jackson, Ellen, and Dorothy. The home remained in the family until 1993.
