La Pine State Park
Nature
La Pine State Park lies along the Deschutes River in central Oregon, about five miles southwest of La Pine, and serves visitors year-round for both day use and overnight stays. Managed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, it includes camping, cabins, picnic areas, a pet exercise area, and access to boating and wading on the Upper Deschutes River. The park is especially known for Big Tree, a ponderosa pine nearly 162 feet tall and estimated to be almost 500 years old, believed to be the largest ponderosa pine in the world.
