South Arkansas Arboretum is a three-acre botanical garden in El Dorado, Arkansas, beside the former El Dorado High School. Opened in 1965, it was created to feature plants native to the Piney Woods of south Arkansas alongside ornamentals such as azaleas and camellias. More than two miles of paved trails give the site the character of a small urban woodland. Its labeled collection of regional trees and shrubs makes it both a public garden and an outdoor learning space tied to local education. It is also Arkansas's fiftieth state park and the state's only park located within a city, preserving a piece of the Piney Woods in town.
