Mount Tamalpais State Park in Marin County, California, preserves around 25,000 acres centered on 2,571-foot Mount Tamalpais, with redwood and oak forests and Muir Woods National Monument enclosed within surrounding park lands. It is a major recreation landscape, with about 60 miles of trails in the park linking to a broader 200-mile network across nearby public lands.
