John A. Miner, a lifelong resident of Guilford Township, served in Germany during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. His avid interest in trains and railroading was reflected in his membership in the Lionel Train Collectors Club of America and the Train Collector's Association. Devoted to the ideals of the Lions organization, he was a member of the Greene Township Lions Club for more than 50 years, received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, and at the time of his death was a member of the Penn National Lions Club, which he was instrumental in founding. Committed to serving the needs of the community, he was a board member of the Guilford Water Authority for 37 years and also served on the Guilford Township Sewer Authority, the Board of Directors of Penn State—Mount Alto, and the Advisory Committee of the Franklin County Foundation.
