Fichtner Covered Bridge, also known as Palo Alto Bridge, is a historic wooden covered road bridge in Londonderry Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Built in 1880, the 56-foot bridge spans Gladdens Run with a Kingpost truss, a simple timber design used for short covered bridges, and is noted for its low side walls. It is one of 15 historic covered bridges in Bedford County, reflecting the region’s surviving 19th-century bridge-building traditions. Its significance was formally recognized in 1980 with listing on the National Register of Historic Places, and it remains a preserved example of Pennsylvania’s rural covered bridge heritage.
