Bulow Creek State Park lies about five miles north of Ormond Beach along Old Dixie Highway near Florida’s Atlantic coast, beside Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park and other nearby protected lands. It is best known for its live oak forest, one of the largest remaining stands of southern live oak on Florida’s east coast. The park’s most famous tree, the Fairchild Oak, is estimated to be more than 400 years old and is regarded as one of the largest southern live oaks in the southern United States. The park also supports wildlife and offers low-impact recreation such as hiking, canoeing, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and primitive camping.
