Built in 1850, the Stori House Hotel stood on this site as a stage coach stop and the "coffee house" of Menomonie. A circuit court and many social events were held there. It was demolished in 1964, and at that time it was the oldest standing landmark in the state. In honor of Menomonie's sesquicentennial, a downtown Menomonie time capsule was buried at this historic node on July 27, 1996, to be opened in July 2046.
