Organized on June 6, 1919, with 12 charter members, this congregation was named in honor of Mrs. Linda Lay, who had been instrumental in the development of the spiritual life in the town. Its building was constructed in 1920, and the dedication was held on August 14, 1921. The first pastor was the Rev. J.T. King.
