Carson Hot Springs in Carson City, Nevada, is the Eagle Valley’s largest natural hot spring, producing about 60 gallons of geothermally heated groundwater a minute at roughly 120°F from deep below the surface. First used by Washoe people, it became known to overland travelers during the 1849 California Gold Rush and grew by 1880 into a bathing resort with bathhouses, a swimming pool, and a nearby hotel. The property changed owners and names over time, later expanding as a leisure destination with music, bottled mineral water, and even a connection to boxer Gentleman Jim Corbett. It remains a resort centered on the same geothermal source.
