Atlantic County’s Park at Weymouth Furnace was developed around the remains of an early 1800’s iron furnace, an important link to Atlantic County’s rich history. The furnace produced iron pipe and utilitarian pieces, and during the War of 1812 it was called on to make weaponry, giving the site national historical significance. A paper mill operated there from the late 1860’s until 1887. The remains of Weymouth Furnace are preserved so they can be studied and enjoyed by future Atlantic County residents and visitors.
