The white clapboard octagon chapel was built by the Twentieth Century Club in 1907. Its portico was supported by two white columns. The chapel was furnished with pews, a pump organ and wood burning stove. Many funerals were sheltered here during the early half of the 20th century. On Oct. 3, 1986, during a high wind storm, a large oak tree split and crushed the chapel beyond repair.
