On August 14, 1937, Princess White Deer recalled that ten years earlier on that same spot she had invoked the Great Spirit to bless the colony, asking for bright sun, gentle rain, cool breezes, many homes in the woodland, many canoes upon the waters, and health, happiness, prosperity, and peace for its people. She declared that the Great Spirit had heard her, that the valley of her people was now the valley of their people, and that their flag was now her flag, and she raised an emblem over Lake Mohawk while again wishing continued health, happiness, and peace.
