Kittatinny Valley State Park
Nature
Kittatinny Valley State Park in Andover Township and Andover Borough combines glacial lakes, limestone outcrops, former railroad corridors, historic buildings, and a small airport into a distinctive landscape. Its waters include Lake Aeroflex, Gardner’s Pond, Twin Lakes, and White’s Pond, which support fishing, hand-launched boating, and seasonal ice-fishing, while Lake Aeroflex is stocked annually with brown and rainbow trout. The Sussex Branch Trail preserves a former railroad route with bridges, cuts, and fills across wetlands and lake country. The park also includes the Hill–Hussey Stone House and the Slater House, supports year-round recreation, and provides habitat for varied wildlife.
