Tulsa Botanic Garden is a 170-acre nonprofit botanical garden in Osage County northwest of downtown Tulsa, created to promote the beauty and importance of plants, education, and a more sustainable relationship with the landscape. Begun in 1999, it advanced through land donation, grants, and expanding infrastructure, with a Blessing of the Land ceremony in 2007 connecting it to the wider history of the site. Renamed in 2013, it has opened major features in phases, including formal gardens, children’s spaces, new buildings, and an arboretum. It also serves as a cultural venue, while seasonal displays and continuing development have made it an important long-term civic project for the Tulsa area.
