On 6 February, 1991, while assigned to the 706th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 926th Tactical Fighter Group, Capt. Robert R. Swain, USAFA ‘79, scored the first ever air-to-air victory in an A-10 aircraft by shooting down an Iraqi Bo 105C helicopter during combat operations over Iraq.
