The Boon-Dox Botel is a restoration of the original Walnut Grove Hotel, built by Alex Brown in 1868. Its original bar was built in the early 1800's, shipped around the Horn, installed in a brothel in San Francisco, later moved to the original hotel in 1868, and then moved into this hotel structure in 1916. The name Boon-Dox comes from Boon, defined as jovial and fun loving, and Dox, meaning place, hence a place of fun.
