Site of Western Eagle
History
Western Eagle was the second newspaper in Indiana Territory. Founded in Madison in 1813, it moved to Lexington on July 8, 1815, and to this site in October 1815. Jacob Rhoads, publisher after 1814, terminated publication on January 6, 1816, for financial reasons. Rhoads was printer for Indiana Territory from 1814 to 1816.
