Adlai E. Stevenson I, Vice President of the United States from 1893 to 1897, moved with his bride, Letitia Green, to this house after their 1866 wedding and lived here until 1868. Stevenson practiced law at the Metamora Court House from 1858 to 1868. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Central Illinois Landmarks Foundation and is owned by the Metamora Association for Historic Preservation.
