Founded by the Keahey family and related immigrants from Scotland, the adjacent Union Presbyterian Church established this cemetery before the Civil War. The Presbytery of South Alabama, a district governing body of the Presbyterian Church (USA), cares for the cemetery. Generous contributions by the George P. and Margaret C. Keahey families over the years helped make these arrangements possible.
