Peggy Shaw was a girl of 12 years who, during an Indian attack at Hannastown in 1782, was struck down by a bullet while rescuing a small child who went outside the fort. She lingered twelve days and died. She is buried in the Middle Presbyterian Church burying grounds at Mt. Pleasant, Pa.
