This large two-story brick structure served as Minster's only movie house for more than 60 years. It opened in 1933 with a stage, orchestra pit, and seating for 611 patrons, and its first show was an animated Mutt & Jeff short film. During the silent movie era, piano accompaniment was often played from the stage while moviegoers read subtitles. Residents remember seeing Saturday cartoons, summer band shows, live plays, and graduations there. The theater and its colorful marquee closed in 1995.
