The Scottish American Monument recognizes the contributions made by all people of Scottish heritage to the development of the United States of America, invoking Woodrow Wilson’s words that “Every line of strength in our history is a line coloured by Scottish blood” and Robert Burns’s “A Man’s A Man For A That,” with its hope that “man to man, the world o’er, shall brothers be for a’ that.”
